In the middle of October 2016 Russian Orthodox Church opened its “spiritual and cultural center” by placing a golden-domed cupola on top of the future Saint Trinity church in Quai Branly. Nothing out of the ordinary. Except the fact that the future church was being built at a stone’s throw from Palais de l'Alma which contains the Élysée Palace’s postal service and the private apartments of senior presidential advisers. What some might dismiss as conspirology is very likely to be an attempt of using this place of worship and other Russian churches as electronic surveillance centers to eavesdrop on French authorities, Russian influence researchers say.

At the beginning of March, right after the full-scale invasion, Russian information troops targeted regional centers of Ukraine by creating dedicated Telegram channels for each township or community. Although each one posed as a source of local news, those channels were in fact used to disseminate Russian narratives and bolster support for the occupiers. In this project, we decided to show what hypothetically happens around the Ukrainian position when it’s showered with "lead rain".

Since the beginning of the war, Russia has been stealing Ukrainian grain from occupied territories, exporting and selling it to countries not involved in the conflict. This has been repeatedly stated by Ukrainian and foreign high-ranking officials. We compared data on Russian exports, ship traffic and satellite images.

We have made a visualization that allows you to monitor Russian military equipment around Ukraine and in the occupied territories. It will be constantly updated as new images appear.

In Ukraine, people love to put things to the fire, and they rev in burning staff. Not only leaves and rubbish are burned, but also reeds, stubble, and grass. They are burned in such a way that sometimes forests also catch fire. In addition, more and more accidental wildfires occur every year due to droughts.
