Hot topics of Russian disinfo: Prosecutor Rabinovich will imprison everyone who voted for the land market. Issue #31

Coronavirus is in the limelight again, but this week saw an increase in the news from the Verkhovna Rada because of the "anti-Kolomoisky" law and the land market. Disinformers are using the epidemic to frighten with Ukraine's "collapse", the state's "insolvency", and to wreak panic among the population. Since the second stage of the medical reform did start on April 1st, Uliana Suprun was damned many times. Disinformers consistently prophesize "collapse and disaster" to the medical reform.During the monitoring period, rows took place in the Verkhovna Rada around the land market and the "anti-Kolomoisky" law. "Oppositionists" promise to imprison everyone who voted for the land market law. They prophesize an "alienation of a part of the territory" and a "degradation of the soil." Many "compliments" went to Petro Poroshenko, whose faction supported the land market law. Ihor Kolomoisky, on the contrary, received friendly support from the manipulators; they argue that the law which makes it impossible to return nationalized banks is allegedly needed to take land away from people.Period: March 30 — April 5, 2020

Coronavirus continues to dominate the media. It defines almost all topics, but often disinformers use it to promote their messages. Disinformers continue to sow panic and despair over the coronavirus pandemic, with some calling for an armed rebellion. Particularly emotionally, they describe the inequality of access to healthcare, exaggerate, and play on people's dislike for the "elite". Also this week, they wrote about the possibility of default, pro-Russian speeches in the parliament, Russia's "help" to Italy, IMF’s “cunning plans”, and they tried to pump up the topic of "separatism" in Ukrainian regions.Period: March 23—29, 2020

Hot topics of Russian disinfo: “Strong regional leader Kernes” made into an icon of federalism. Issue #29

Not surprisingly, coronavirus dominated the media last week. There were many critical publications in conscientious media, too: transportation collapse in Kyiv, pumped up prices for masks, criticism of medical reform. However, contrary to media ethics, disinformers used them to sow panic, emotionally devaluing power, opposing "inefficient Ukrainians" to the whole other "civilized" world, and spreading apocalyptic predictions. They also criticized Zelensky, fantasized about Ukraine's foreign governance and once again resumed discourse on the federalization of Ukraine, either inventing "coronavirus federalism" or inflating nationwide a petty conflict between Kharkiv region officials.Period: March 16—22, 2020

Hot topics of Russian disinfo: Coronavirus, Soros, IMF, and foreign governance. Issue #28

Panic over coronavirus, quarantine, and the inevitable economic crisis - these are the topics in all media. Disinformers are also holding their heart on the pulse of the events. They mixed the already bad news with their eternal themes that Ukraine has long been under foreign control, completely dependent on the tranches of the IMF, the US, and the Russian ruble. And many varieties of conspiracy theories were disseminated, where the coronavirus is the result of the bioterrorism of some country. In their world, deputies of Servant of the People who are “faithful to Soros” oppose peace in Donbas, while in the West an anti-Russian campaign is going on, and the creation of an "advisory board" in Minsk is at the same time associated with the refusal to make peace and the capitulation to Russia.Period: March 9–15, 2020

Coronavirus is a pretext for discrediting the Ukrainian authorities. According to disinformers, Ukraine must even resume delivering water to Crimea in order to provide the population with a place to rest during the coronavirus epidemic and finally "bury" Honcharuk. By the way, the coordinated campaign against Honcharuk turned out to be a success and now Tihipko was being discussed as a substitute, being "simply Level: God, compared to "Soros pigs". They also continued to demonize the United States, to disseminate words of Surkov, a former advisor to Putin, to speak about neo-Nazis as Ukraine's main problem, and to remind that Russians "protected" Crimeans from the fate of the Donbas.Period: February 24 — March 1, 2020
