The number of strikes in Ukrainian border-regions increased after Trump's inaguration (infographic)
Since the elections, Donald Trump has been talking about peace talks. We have analyzed Russian missile and Shahed-drone attacks on 12 regions near the frontline and neighboring Russia. After the inauguration, the number of strikes only increased.
During Trump's presidential campaign, he promised to stop the war very quickly. He emphasized that unlike his predecessor Joe Biden, he would be able to achieve peace. Therefore many Ukrainians believed in some kind of superpower of the American president in the fight for peace.
The fact that someone constantly repeats the word "peace" does not stop the shooting
In addition, Trump's entire entourage talks about the success of the negotiations with the Russians. Some initiatives are replacing others, and we have already heard about some kind of "energy truce." But unfortunately, the fact that someone constantly repeats the word "peace" does not stop the shooting.
The reality is not just different than Trump and his entourage portray it, it is fundamentally at odds with the statements of the American establishment.
Since Trump's inauguration, the intensity of strikes on Ukrainian territory has increased, as evidenced by data collected by user X, who analyzes official reports on Shaheda launches and shootdowns.

We have collected data from open sources for 2024-2025 on the hits of Russian missiles and Shaheds on targets in Ukraine. We only took into account official reports of hits. We did not take into account damage and fires caused by falling debris.
Texty.org.ua analyzed the hits by Russian missiles and Shaheds in 12 regions near the frontline and neighboring Russia. After the inauguration, the number of attacks did not decrease but, on the contrary, increased.

If we compare, for example, the two months before Trump took office and the two months after, we will see a tenfold increase in some regions, such as Odesa. In the two months before the inauguration, the region was hit twice, and in the two months after - more than two dozen times.
The number of Russian strikes in 12 Ukrainian regions during this period more than doubled.
It seems that the more they talk about peace negotiations across the ocean, the more confident and impune Russians feel.
