Statement on Czech politicians included in “The Germs of “Russian World”. Version 2.0” project by Texty.org.ua
We are conducting additional research and have removed some individuals and one party from our database. In June 2023, Texty.org.ua published the project “The Germs of “Russian World”. Version 2.0”, where we collected politicians, public figures, and various organizations that promoted Russian narratives about Ukraine.
In early February 2024, the project went viral in the Czech Republic, and Czech society and the political community actively discussed it. Our database includes about a hundred personalities and organizations from the Czech Republic.
Following these discussions, we decided to investigate more thoroughly the former Prime Minister of the Czech Republic, now the leader of the opposition movement ANO, Andrej Babiš, the leader of the ANO faction in parliament, Alena Schillerová, and the Czech Social Democratic Party (formerly ČSSD, now SOCDEM). During this additional investigation, we have removed the aforementioned politicians and the party from our database.
We also removed Igor Zolotaryov, who heads an anti-Putin Russian emigrant organization in the Czech Republic.
